Assessing Risk: Slips, Trips and Falls

Over 1 in 3 deaths among seafarers has been due to slips, trips, and falls. That's too many casualties. This program discusses risk assessment with the aim of reducing the incidence of slips, trips and falls. Included in this program is the use of actual incident report photographs to drive home this message: these easily avoidable accidents continue to occur and cost the maritime industry dearly - in time, money, and suffering.

Risk assessment isn't just a paperwork exercise, something for the senior officers to worry about, but something that every crewmember should think about. It's not just about looking, but seeing: seeing a problem, seeing a danger, and doing something about it, rather than dealing with the painful consequences.
